Bougainvillea Garden

Our family has been going to the same house in Mexico for 15+ years, every fourth of July. The home we stay in has held a special place in my heart, welcoming us back with consistency in its beauty and light. This year as I painted the garden one morning, its thick black gate and imperfectly perfect purple-pink bougainvillea vines, I was reminded how with the right tender care and resources, things can flourish, even in a desert.
